John's First Eight 1998

Quick of the mark as usual, preparations started early for the 1998 Torpids and Summers season with the formation of the development squad. These fine young men held the Men's Dev Squad places :

3rd in Autumn Fours (rowed by Bow Four)
3rd in Kingston Fours Head (rowed by Bow Four, 20th/300 over all)
3rd in Nephthys Head
2nd in Nephthys Regatta Open Championship Fours (rowed by Bow Four)
1st in Wallingford Head Novice Category

With Torpids rapidly approaching the Men's 1sts move from strength to strength, the crew has swapped a little from the men's dev. squad, but soon to be donning our cotton suits and heading Torpidswards are :
