A map of forests still relied on in 2009
A large number of forests mentioned elsewhere (and all chases) are missing from this map accompanying a standard text: Margaret L. Bazeley, ‘The extent of the English forest in the thirteenth century’, Transactions of the Royal Historical Society, 4th Series, 4 (1921) pp. 140-72, map following p. 60. It was still being relied on in an important book on parks published in 2009.
